I stroll the suburban areas during the hottest hours of the day, observing typological architecture patterns, social tendencies, and vernacular objects. I'm fascinated by the human's attempts to create virtual realities, which are often expressed in utopian motives, eternal landscapes, and patches from desired, and thus unreachable, worlds.
I often shoot with an on-camera flash. It’s my way to flirt with the sun. I’m curious about the information, which is hidden in the shadows and the silhouettes. Illuminating the shadowed areas is always a surprise for me. The harsh light of the flash, reveals different qualities and colors in various subjects. A palm leaf is made of plastic, water splashes turn into a celestial sky and the sunset, remains a sunset.
